👋Hello Rena Community,

We’re back with our new release updates, dev team progress, and more!

Tech Updates:

Rena-FTM deployment:

As of now, all contracts are verified and deployed! Currently, we are awaiting approval for the bridge for our test token $ANER. Once approved we will bridge over test tokens and test/QA $ANER on FTM. Once the functionality of contracts on FTM has been confirmed we will be ready to go live with bridging actual $RENA over to FTM.

Not teasing, it’s close!👆

Wondering what’s been holding this up? Here’s an update straight from our King Dev, Davion, as of Feb 6 (shared via Telegram):

Hey guys! I just want to throw out another update here because I know it’s been awhile.

The FTM Port is taking a while because Rena is actually 14 contracts working in unison. Most are aware of each other and some interact quite extensively with each other. Over the last couple of months, converting the Rena ERC20 token to an AnySwapERC20 took a lot more work than first anticipated.

We had to redo parts of the Rena contract because the AnySwap standard pushed our contract beyond the 24kb limit of the EVM. After an extensive rework of all our contracts, including upgrading the token to solidity 0.8.2, and splitting the periphery contracts to another repository, we encountered a problem with FTMscans verification process.

The very same automated scripts we wrote to verify Rena on Ethereum Mainnet (and the testnets) would not function with FTMscan testnet. We went as far as writing our own FTMscan-verification plugin to both Hardhat and Remix.

These efforts still failed. We then had to begin a journey of reorganizing the contracts so we can manually verify them on FTMscan without using API calls. We finally worked out the kinks to all of this and then began looking to test with SpookySwap and AnySwap on the Testnet. It didn’t take us long to realize that none of these protocols work fully through Testnets. And this was the final straw. We have cut out the FTM Testnet and are testing live on Mainnet Ethereum + Fantom.

I’m happy to announce that at current we have a faux token (called $ANER) that we are testing the bridge + supporting contracts, live on Mainnet to ensure the functionality and safety of venturing out into a cross-chain ecosystem.

I wish I could give you a finite date for completion but I can’t! I do know that we are very close. And know we are extremely dedicated. I’m currently on a family vacation on a tropical island coding 6h+ a day. With everything deployed on Mainnet (and thank you to @Uviz for funding our gas costs), once we work out any kinks that should arise, our scripts and contracts are already ready to go live on Mainnet. It’ll be quick and sudden! Fantom, here we come!

UI/Branding Updates:

RenaSwap UI & Greek Tokens:

Along with the FTM launch mentioned above, we are working on a new version of the RenaSwap UI, including adding one-way pair listings for the Greek Tokens $XI $BETA $RHO $KAPPA & $GAMMA.

The new UI frontend is nearly complete with a few things to wrap up (ETH/FTM toggle, swap menu clean-up, data display format, etc.) before moving on to the next step of bringing in the Web 3.0 components. The Greek Pairs will then be brought live, and the page pushed to the public site replacing the existing RenaSwap page.

Here’s a sneak peek👇

RenaSwap V2:

We are in the process of leveling up the Rena Finance branding and solidifying our protocol identity. This month we are meeting with a Brand Strategy and Design firm that is facilitating the process with the Rena V2 team. This has been an exciting process so far, and we are looking forward to our next Strategy Session late next week. We get to move into the design and protocol updates following the strategy phase.
