Welcome to the 1st edition of our bi-weekly newsletter series.

Rena (or Renascent) began with one vision — to renew and revitalize the fragmented, fragile, and unpredictable state of liquidity in DeFi. It began as a vision to finally offer LPs truly optimized and sustainable yields. To that end, Rena has grown into an ecosystem we are proud of. What we are even more appreciative of is our community, you are the true essence behind Rena.

Taking us to today, we are aware that it’s time to expand and integrate multiple approaches for driving Rena’s liquidity and volume. As a project we have grown, things change and we’ve developed a much more solid sense of Rena and where we are heading.

We realize this is the perfect opportunity to evolve, truly. A part of this evolution is to improve delivery and communication with our community, which is why we are here today, taking the first step towards it.

Let’s dive into the first bi-weekly update, shall we?

Smart Contracts:

This may come as news for some of our community members, while for many others, this might be an upcoming milestone they’ve been eagerly waiting for — Rena will be launching on Fantom. We’ll share the motivation behind this move in another exclusive blog, however, today let’s see the progress we have made.

The process began with analyzing the EVM and solidity compatibility for FTM. The results are promising, making us more confident about the move. Then we moved on to developing smart contracts for Rena on Fantom followed by creating support for deployment parameters.

The volume of work needed behind the scenes to deploy Rena on Fantom is extensive, a mammoth. Yes, but it’s all worth the wait since it gives the Rena ecosystem a much more cost and operationally-efficient setting. All of which aligns with community prosperity.

Finally, smart contract testing for the listing of greek tokens has concluded and passed onto frontend implementation.

Frontend:

In terms of frontend, a while ago, we updated the community about an incoming UX/UI makeover for Renaswap. The work on that is going steady, and the community can expect it to come sooner than expected.

However, we would like to touch upon — why the UI upgrade in the first place?

While setting up the initial mission, design, and user flows for Rena, we did not anticipate the enormous support and anticipation for the protocol. Like our community, our ideas kept growing incrementally to bring the most efficient liquidity incentive machine. Now, as the metrics have grown and plans have expanded, such as the listing of the Greeks, the Renaswap requires a new look and upgraded interface.

There are several essential pieces to the art of unlocking the full economic potential of the DeFi liquidity market. Along with a robust technological architecture, interoperability, efficient gas optimization, at Rena, we believe that a slick user experience with seamless workflows is a vital part of the process.

Work on the Rena NFT marketplace continues parallel with the frontend for Greeks and Fantom deployment.

Backend:

We have achieved metadata processing for the Rena NFT marketplace, strings for the NFT frontend, and NFT art generation have been taken off.

Community

We know that you are anxious to see the results and so are we. All hands are on deck, and we are working towards the deliverables. While most of the development is in its final stages for the mentioned milestones, the testing phase has been initiated. While we can work over liters of hot and cold coffee to expedite the development process, we take the security of our community too seriously to rush the testing phase. We ask for your support and patience.

More updates will be shared on our socials. Stay tuned!

And that’s a wrap for this newsletter!
